DESCRIPTION:‘‘THE CONGO MEETS CUBA IN AN EXUBERANT EXPLOSION OF MUSIC’\n\n\nGrupo Lokito create a modern-day cocktail of two of the great world musics; Fusing blistering contemporaryCongolese grooves with the fire of Cuban music. The results have audiences dancing in a haze of energy. \nThe glorious melodious vocals ofCongolese front men Eugene Makuta and Iddo \nDonnatella blends with soaring guitars courtesy of Congolese guitar hero Mbokalia ‘Burkina Faso’\, and the lilting keyboards of Latin piano player Sara. All of this sits on top of the rhythmic powerhouse team of Ernesto(drums)\, Emeris (congas)\,Elpidio (bass) and Shyam(rhythm guitar). \nSince their formation in 2006 the bandhave gone from strength to strength\, completing several UK tours and building a solid following. \nInMay 2020 Grupo Lokito were awarded an Arts Council grant to make music during lockdown and the band released three tunes on digital platforms: Yoka!\, ¡Lo QuePasó! and Bolingo Ya Londres. STIRZ produces bass music packed with home grown samples and tasteful genre twists. STIRZ is also a Jungle drummer and plays with Slamboree amongst various other artists in the UK. Charlie STIRZaker has been DJing a big mixed bag of beats in clubs and festivals in the UK and internationally since 2006\, it is now time to launch a project which will provide a platform for STIRZ releases and performances with both drums and decks.
